FOLKROCK CITY POETRY FROM OSTRAVA

CONTEMPORARY FOLK WITH UNIQUE LYRICS.

Despite the ambiguous name, there are really three of them: Václav Khýr (vocals, drums), Jiří Šoltis (guitar) and Tomáš Vašut (violin). They come from Ostrava, a city that, with its environment and poetics, has made its mark on their latest album Vystupovat! (Get off!) In thoughtful arrangements, they connect folk with pop, classical music and, in the traditions of similar bands, bluesrock, depending on the focus of the songs with lyrics oscillating between lyricism, humour, subtle irony and sometimes even Christian philosophizing (Once you are a Christian / so you must love).
