PAVEL ČADEK (CZECH REPUBLIC)
SINGER-SONGWRITER, CELLIST, BRNO BOY AND SCOUT
CELLO FORWARD!
The Brno singer-songwriter proudly claims to be a scout and why not, he got a nice nickname, but he chose a rather impractical instrument for nature: the cello. It paid off for him on the singer-songwriter scene: he became the founder of the musical genre "cellofolk". He sings his own work and, as he himself claims, some of it is funny, some is serious and a large part is, of course, about love. He got to cellofolk with a touch of pop the usual way: through classical, metal and Apocalyptica. He received nominations for the Anděl Award for his previous albums and became public knowledge at concerts alongside Pokáč, Xindl X, Bára Poláková or the Jelen group, and on last year's album Cello forward! he sings a duet with cellist Terezie Kovalová. "I thought I would record an album that would be more radio-friendly and perhaps more passionate, so that after my concert the listener would be "pleasantly excited to live," explained singer-songwriter, cellist, Brno native and scout Pavel Čadek to iDnes about what we can expect from him at Folk Holiday festival.
