BEATA BOCEK
BEATA BOCEK

IT'S WHITE, A LITTLE SAD, BUT CALM AND CLEAN

BY HERSELF, FROM BEGINNING TO END.

You certainly know this unique singer-songwriter from Český Těšín, she performed at Folkovky with the MDŽ quartet or occasionally appeared there as a visitor; she has also released enough albums for you to know that she alternates Polish with Czech, mostly manages to do it herself with accompaniment and composes captivating, distinctly melodic, vocally rich and personally tuned compositions, which she says are influenced by life stories, Silesia and Wallachia, discovering her values, paths and feelings - between heaven and earth. In short, she plays herself, from beginning to end.
She filled her ten-year break from filming by taking care of her three children, guesting on friends' albums, playing with puppeteers for children in hospitals, collaborating with theater people, and occasionally giving concerts, during which the skilled multi-instrumentalist also got used to the looper. On her new album, Bílo (White in English), she is once again on the border between folk and alternative music, and under the title we can imagine something like "starting over again, differently, with herself and more in herself".
