OLD BESKYDY MUSIC, OTHERWISE SIMPLY MODERN MUSIC

IT'LL BE FUN HANDS ON!

A band playing an archaic form of traditional music from the Lachian-Wallachian border in the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy; more precisely, gajdoš music from a region where no gajdoš music has survived, and since not a single gajda was preserved, they had to borrow it from elsewhere. And let it ring with other instruments: valcha, grumla, orzezy, bells, nuts, shaker, swollen sack or glass dulcimer. "The bagpipes - the ancient bagpipes - become for us a means of a purely modern approach to the expression of folk song, when its interpretation ceases to be the goal and becomes instead the starting point. It may not look like it at first glance, but we are simply making modern music," says bandleader Marian Friedl. But we know this well from Folkovky, and the joy the musicians in the six-piece singing band get from it, which they then transmit throughout the castle park; or behind Špitálek. It will be fun with them again.
