A VIOLINIST GENIUS WANDERING BETWEEN TRADITION AND JAZZ
He is a member of the internationally famous family trio Kapela Maliszów from the Polish Lower Beskydy mountains. His music is a kind of attempt at a modern look at folk music while maintaining its traditional core. In 2022 he entered the Seifert International Jazz Violin Competition, and some might have asked if traditional violinists could succeed in that kind of event. The jury - Michał Urbaniak, Mark Feldman and Miroslav Vitouš – gave a clear answer. Kacper Malisz won the first prize, despite that he is only twenty-four years old. Even more, this hasn’t been his first award and probably not the last one.
